Network Operation
Unlike "instrument-only" or "PC-only" partial solutions, VelQuest's SmartLab system captures all primary data electronically as it's generated and in the context of the analytical method being executed. The data sources include data from:
- human observations from manual lab procedures such as sample prep, wet chemistry, etc.)
- all lab instruments such as balances, pH meters, etc., PC-Based Systems such as chromatography data systems, spectrophotometers, particle size analyzers, ICPs, robotics, and other PC-driven instruments.
Data is entered automatically and directly from electronic and PC-based instruments. Manual observations are entered using lightweight, convenient electronic display.
The system interoperates with your existing IT infrastructure that is on the network and includes bidirectional data exchange with systems such as Chromatography Data Systems, LIMS, ERP systems, document management and metrology systems.
SmartLab MethodBuilder™
The process of loading routine analytical test methods and procedures into the SmartLab system is accomplished by the SmartLab Method Builder. The MethodBuilder contains a library of validated method operations (such as “weighing”, “mixing”, “diluting”, etc.) that are dragged and dropped into your exiting method document (in Microsoft Word). The method operations can be combined into a Section Block (eg. “Mobile Phase Prep”) and saved in the library and reused at anytime. The benefit of this library block builder is that the method has an automated syntax checking and automated PV (performance verification) documentation and after validating once can be reused, saving time and costs on method validation processes. The validated building blocks can then be locked and re-used in any future method that has similar lab operational steps (ie. Weighing or mobile phase prep etc.).
Loading your analytical method or SOP into the SmartLab system is as easy as drag and drop the method function from your validated library into your method document. This will get you up and running fast!
