President and Chief Executive Officer
 When he began VelQuest Corporation in 1999, Ken Rapp knew that he wanted to do something to help pharmaceutical manufacturers bring new drugs to market faster .He personally met with 50 executives, managers, and scientists to determine the greatest unmet need in Development and QC laboratory operations. With cGMP compliance-related activities identified as a major bottleneck, Ken put together a team and developed the solution: VelQuest’s innovative GMP Electronic Notebook System for Lab and Manufacturing Operations.
As President and CEO of VelQuest Corporation, Ken plays a leadership role in setting Development priorities, Operations, Sales & Marketing, Finance, and International Operations.
From 1984 through 1999, Ken held a variety of technology and management positions with Zymark Corporation. Ken holds a BS degree from Northeastern University.
Bill Buote
Senior Vice President and Chief Technical Officer
 Bill Buote, chief architect of the ePMC solution, has spearheaded VelQuest's development efforts since January, 1999. With a broad-based knowledge of the issues facing laboratories today and a deep understanding of the technology that can be applied, one of Bill's most important duties is to make sure that VelQuest continues to take advantage of technology improvements to meet today's requirements as well as future needs.
Bill's extensive technical expertise and in-depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry was acquired over twenty-five years of software and product development. Before joining VelQuest, he held key technical management positions at Zymark Corporation; in fact, he was one of the first people to join the company. As Vice President, Bill led Zymark's drive to evolve products to keep pace with current technology, and was a key technology advisor on software and hardware product development. Throughout his long service with the company, he played a leading role in developing the core technology platforms and architectures that have allowed Zymark's products to stay current with a fast-changing laboratory marketplace. Previously, he had been Director of Information Systems at Waters Associates (now Waters Corporation).
Bill received his BS degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Gene Tetreault
Vice President, Software Engineering
 Gene Tetreault has more than 15 years experience developing products (hardware and software) for the pharmaceutical industry. As VP of Engineering, he is responsible for product development, system architecture and technical relationships with customer activites. Prior to joining VelQuest, Gene led development efforts for Zymark Corporation (now Caliper Life Sciences) and REMP.
Gene received his BS, Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Massachusetts - Dartmouth.
Claude Hatfield
Senior Vice President, Operations & Compliance
 Claude Hatfield has more than 25 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry with in-depth experience in regulatory compliance and quality assurance. A co-founder of VelQuest Corporation, he is responsible for all compliance activities and operations including project management, system implementation, validation, training and customer support groups.
Prior to joining VelQuest, Claude served in key management positions with Zymark Corporation. He was instrumental in developing and managing Zymark Consulting, a services-based business unit focused on providing the pharmaceutical industry with expertise in instrument qualification and the development and validation of automated analytical methods. Before joining Zymark, Claude held a number of positions at Ortho Pharmaceutical Corporation in the Quality Assurance and Quality Control groups.
Claude received his MS in Analytical Chemistry from Rutgers University.
Steve Prelack
Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
 Steve Prelack, Chief Financial Officer, brings more than 25 years of operations and finance experience in healthcare and technology-related industries to VelQuest. Steve's responsibilities include playing a key role on the management team, assuring the financial stability of the company, overseeing the day to day finance functions and helping shape the VelQuest's forward looking strategy.
Prior to joining VelQuest, as co-founder of LifeMetrix Steve was responsible for all aspects of the company's startup, including raising of initial seed capital of $16M, business development, and consolidation strategy. Steve was also Managing Director of PreGreen Business Accelerator. His roles at these companies have provided him with extensive experience in financial reporting and compliance, mergers and acquisitions, and business and technology development.
Steve is a Cum Laude graduate of the University of Massachusetts, and holds a dual BBA in Finance and Accounting.
