The SmartLab architecture is: “method-based” where your test methods and SOPs become the integration hub for all lab execution data management tasks. The critical tasks include:

  • Providing the current test method or SOP to qualified and approved analysts and reviewers “under glass”.
  • Assessing the “compliance-state” of all materials and chemicals used in the method before analysts use them.
  • Complete instrument integration and assessment of their compliance state prior to use.
  • Real-time analyst and instrument data capture with data checks/flags for expected norms – perfect for “right first time” programs.
  • Interoperability with existing IT infrastructure such as Chromatography Data Systems (CDS), LIMS, Document Management Systems, ERP systems and other data base applications (CAPA, Metrology etc.).

Our platform is a COTS (commercial off-the-shelf) solution and uses standard technology applications including Microsoft, Oracle, Citrix and web-based modules for full scalability and efficient client deployments.

Already have a LIMS?

Success of your total LIMS initiative might depend on SmartLab. How? Traditional LIMS products try to tackle automation of lab execution tasks, but they usually require extensive custom coding and challenging validation processes that take years and millions of dollars to complete. Keeping your LIMS project focused on lab administration tasks, such as specifications management and sample tracking, will increase your chances of a successful LIMS deployment.

The lab execution tasks are best automated by SmartLab, because it’s purpose-built for analysts who execute methods at the lab bench. In coupling your LIMS with SmartLab, your LIMS initiatives can be completed in less time and money with fewer resources than doing the job with LIMS alone. This plan is often referred to as a “thin LIMS” deployment with SmartLab integration.

Don’t have a LIMS?

For some companies, a LIMS product may not be necessary at all. Many ERP software platforms have modules that, when coupled with SmartLab, can accomplish what a commercial LIMS product could do. This eliminates the need to purchase a separate LIMS and the perpetual validation and maintenance costs associated with it.
